We had our first snow of the season yesterday. Finally!
There is just something about snow and holly berries.
As lovely as the snow is … we’re still ready for Spring!

So last week while I was stuck at home (because I couldn’t get out of my driveway that was under eight inches of snow) we made this yummy snow cream. It is a treat I’ve always loved. My mom made it for me every time it snowed when I was growing up.
Easy Snow Cream
In a large bowl whisk together milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Scoop up the clean snow and immediately stir it into the milk mixture until you reach the desired consistency. Top it with sprinkles, or chocolate syrup, or whatever your fancy!
**As a disclaimer, consume snow at your own risk. You may also make this recipe with shaved ice. 🙂

It is a bit sooner than normal, but we had our first snowfall of the season when we woke up this morning!
And wow, it was about four inches in some spots! Sled riding down Dasher Hill anyone? Don’t ask me how we’d stop though.
It sure is beautiful! The holly in front of our office was covered in snow.
Anyone want to volunteer to finish putting up the lights for the Santa Claus Land of Lights? It is only a teensy bit cold. Okay, I fibbed. It’s a lot cold!
But we’ll be ready for opening night on Thanksgiving!
I took a stroll out in the campground in the snow. It is so peaceful and quiet. No one out but me … oh, and Rudolph and that bird.
Rudolph? Have you been walking down by the lake?
You have haven’t you?
You haven’t been walking on the icy lake have you?
You little rascal! You have been walking on the lake. Shame on you. Don’t you know reindeer aren’t good ice skaters?
What’s this little birdie up to?
I think he got confused by our one way on Garland …
…and started going in circles.
Goodness! Now I’m dizzy.
I’m sure he was just looking for the Holiday World shuttle stop.
I can’t imagine why no one was waiting for the shuttle. Could it be the roof of ice? Hmm, that could be it I suppose.
Back up Dasher Hill toward the office for me.
Doesn’t Dasher Hill just look like the perfect sled riding hill.
Or the perfect place to make a snow angel.
Which I did. 🙂
Spring weather? Can you hear me? Please come soon so camping season is officially here. Thank you.
