We love this cartoon Rudolph. Thanks for sharing it with us Marisa!
Rudolph is even fishing in her cartoon … one of his favorite outdoor activities! It is Lake Rudolph, after all. 😉
Grilled Sausage & Veggie Packet
You Need:
Make ‘Em:
You can make one large foil packet and everyone can serve themselves … or, you can make individual packets.
We make ours in one large packet. Cut up the sausage and all veggies. Toss together with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Seal and grill for 20 – 30 minutes, turning once halfway through, until veggies are fork tender.
Last week I had the pleasure of giving a media tour to a lovely family that was visiting us from up north.
And they had quadruplets. What fun! So of course I couldn’t resist snapping a photo. Say cheese!
The family was such a delight! I had a great time chatting with them and giving a golf car tour of the campground. I hope they had as much fun!
Happy National Doughnut Day!
You know we sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the Camp Store right?
It is a holiday worth celebrating. :-p

So we talked on Facebook about how my daughter and I roasted starbursts last week. Had a few people ask how we did it … so I thought we’d throw that up on the blog for you.
Roasted Starbursts
You Need:
Make ‘Em:
Unwrap starburst. Push onto skewer until it goes through the other side. It gets pretty bubbly and slides around so make sure it’s pushed through there good.
Hold over the fire for about ten seconds or so. I lost count. We roasted ours until they started to bubble and changed into a deeper color. Remove from fire and let cool to the touch. They’re ooey, gooey and crunchy. Which is an interesting combination. Outside gets crunchy and inside is gooey.
What’s your favorite flavor? Ours was pink and red. Yum!

One of our travel writers wrote a lovely poem about her stay with us. Thought you might enjoy it too. Thank you for letting us share it Connie!
‘Twas six months before Christmas and all through the campground
We swam and we fished and played on the playground
At night we snuggled all comfy in bed
In a rather nice cabin, not the tent that I dread
And knew in a moment that off we must go
To the pavilion to hear the story retold
Of that Christmas Eve in times of old
Santa chose children to play all of the parts
Ma, the children, the man dear to our hearts
His version of the story drew much laughter
Then Santa stayed to answer questions after
Children asked how he can move so fast
Christmas Eve night doesn’t long last
Yet he visits children the world around
And all the while doesn’t make a sound
Santa answered more question from girls and boys
Including how can he possibly afford all those toys
And then we were off to continue our day
At Lake Rudolph where all day long we would play
