During site judging last weekend we came across a site that dressed their kiddies up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The whole crew was in attendance … Sneezy, Sleepy, Dopey, Doc, Happy, Bashful and Grumpy, as well as Snow White herself.
I caught up with them again later during the costume contest.
Sleepy was living up to his name.
Today the Santa Claus Christmas Store made their first batch of fudge. It is probably still mixing as I write this. Should be ready to cut first thing tomorrow. I am volunteering right now to be a taste tester.
They have a variety of flavors that include Orange Cream, Chocolate, Banana Nut, Cherry Vanilla Nut, Raspberry Nut, Chewy Praline, Egg Nog, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Walnut, Amaretto Chocolate Swirl, Heath English Toffee and Mint Chocolate Swirl.
If you ask me there isn’t a bad flavor in the bunch!
This morning we got a lovely thank you note from a family that won 2nd place in our site decorating contest. They visited us during week 5 of our HalloWeekends. Their site featured a very creepy cemetery with lots of live characters. Good stuff … you get bonus points for live characters.
Their note read:
Thanks for such a great weekend of camping. Even though the weather wasn’t very cooperative, we had a great time.
Thanks to the judges for awarding us 2nd place in the site decorating contest. We’ve been trying for one of those signs for several years!
Also, thank you for the $75 gift card. We are planning on a pizza and ice cream party next year. Don’t forget the Byers family … we will be back trying for 1st place!
– The Don and Gayla Byers Family
Byers Family … we’ll see you next year. And we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!
It is that time of the year when many of us carve pumpkins. Now normally you have the standard carvings, creepy faces, maybe some words or names carved in those orange globes.
Those standard carvings just didn’t appeal to Justin, our HR manager. He wanted to carve something a little more Rudolph-y.
Forget Jack … we’re all about Rudolph here.
Rudy O' Lantern
Mission accomplished Justin.
Woodall’s Campground Management has a lovely article about HalloWeekends here at Lake Rudolph Campground. Complete with a photo of our T-shirt design for this season.
They state that few campgrounds do Halloween quite as special as Lake Rudolph. Awww shucks … we’re blushing.
