The Christmas Lights Road Trip Through Indiana That’s Nothing Short Of Magical
“Ready to take a magical journey through some of the best Christmas lights in the state before celebrating another wonderful holiday season? We have so many great Christmas lights in Indiana that this list was hard to narrow down, but we think you’ll see some pretty awesome lights displays.”
And guess who was listed as #1?! We’re so happy to make this list.
1. Santa Claus Land of Lights – Santa Claus
We’ll start off in the merriest town on earth, Santa Claus, Indiana. This spectacular lights show is one of the most talked about in the entire state and will make a believer out of both children and adults.
Read the complete article here.
Flip the switch on the Christmas lights for the Santa Claus Land of Lights! The light show opens tomorrow, November 22, on Thanksgiving night! So after you’ve gobbled up all the turkey and trimmings, take a relaxing drive through the family Christmas light adventure.
The Santa Claus Land of Lights (located inside Lake Rudolph) is an outdoor light show that tells the Shining Story of Rudolph in bright, energy-efficient LED lights. It’s the only light show in North America that tells in story in both lights and storyboards. If you haven’t visited during the Christmas season, start a new family tradition and come visit us!
Families may purchase an “Express Pass” for the Santa Claus Land of Lights online.
When you arrive you’ll have a designated lane and we’ll fast track you right into
the light show!

This is my favorite (and easiest!) pie crust. I wanted to share it with all of you for holiday pie baking. 🙂
Perfect Pie Crust
- 2 1/4 cups of flour
- 1 t. salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 5 – 7 Tablespoons of cold water
**Makes two crusts. Use for one pie as top and bottom or use for two pies with a bottom crust.
Mix flour and salt together in a large bowl.
Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add water one Tablespoon at a time, mix lightly with a fork until flour mixture is evenly moistened. It will start to cling together when pressed into a ball.
Divide dough in half and shape into two rounds. Wrap each one in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Place one dough round between two sheets of wax paper and roll out, working from the center outward. Repeat for the second crust. I promise you’ll never go back to pre-made crusts … it’s that good. And I don’t even like pie crust!

When we have a party where we grill, my uncles always make grilled cabbage. My family loves cabbage, but grilled is our favorite. It’s so good! Try it, you may never go back to regular cabbage again!
Cabbage on the Grill
- 1/2 head cabbage, cut into thick shreds
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup butter
- Ground pepper to taste
- Polish sausage (optional)
Heat your grill to medium heat.
If you’re making one large packet just put the cabbage in, add soy sauce, and butter. Slice up sausage and put that in and then season with ground pepper. Seal together tightly and grill until cabbage is tender.
Or … you can make individual packets for each person, divide the cabbage among 4 sheets of aluminum foil, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce on each and then put 1 tablespoon of butter on top. Slice up sausage and divide evenly between each packet. Season with pepper and fold foil into a packet over the cabbage. Place ’em on the grill and cook until cabbage is tender. This makes about four individual packets. Drat, now I want grilled cabbage!
