Came across this archive photo and used it for “Throwback Thursday”.
Let’s look closer. The bicycle has been abandoned for another toy. What is that pink thing?
A cat? Forget Rudolph. He’s been thrown over for a pink cat.
That is one groovy pink cat.
Anyone recognize this rhyme perhaps? :-p
Think of all the animals you’ve ever heard about …
like rhinoceroses and tigers, cats, and mink.
There are lots of funny animals in all this world …
But have you ever see a “cat” that is pink?
I took a stroll out in the campground in the snow. It is so peaceful and quiet. No one out but me … oh, and Rudolph and that bird.
Rudolph? Have you been walking down by the lake?
You have haven’t you?
You haven’t been walking on the icy lake have you?
You little rascal! You have been walking on the lake. Shame on you. Don’t you know reindeer aren’t good ice skaters?
What’s this little birdie up to?
I think he got confused by our one way on Garland …
…and started going in circles.
Goodness! Now I’m dizzy.
I’m sure he was just looking for the Holiday World shuttle stop.
I can’t imagine why no one was waiting for the shuttle. Could it be the roof of ice? Hmm, that could be it I suppose.
Back up Dasher Hill toward the office for me.
Doesn’t Dasher Hill just look like the perfect sled riding hill.
Or the perfect place to make a snow angel.
Which I did. 🙂

Have you ever asked your little kiddos what they think you do at work? A few nights ago I came home from work and my two year old (she’ll be three next month) asked if I’d had a good day. Here’s how the conversation went …
Addy: Mommy! You’re home! Have a good day at work?
Me: I did baby. Did you have fun with mamaw?
Addy: Uh-huh. We painted, and played, and watched Dora … Mommy? Whatcha do at work?
Me: What do you think I do at work? You’ve been to mommy’s office before.
Addy: You ride the golf car and get candy! Whole lot candy!
Well, the truth is out there folks. All I really do at work is ride the golf car and get candy. What a hoot! By the way that’s her in the owl costume. 🙂
I know this comes from our Halloween Weekends, which she is usually present for six out of the seven. It cracked me up that she thinks this is what I do all day long!
I have to state that for the record while I’m riding the golf car and getting candy (I’m not passing on Milk Duds or Dots), I’m also taking photos and video. So there!
My stab at a fun camping poem. It should be noted here that I am not a professional poet and do not claim to be. No heckling please. 🙂
Ode to Camping
Camping runs in our family’s blood, it’s just what we do.
We are lovers of the outdoors, through and through.
The smell of the grill, the pop of the fire.
These are things of which we will never tire.
A campfire log shifts, sparks fly in the night air.
We draw in a deep breath, having not a care.
The chilly night is perfect … just right and not too cold.
Ahhh, camping in the great outdoors. This will never get old.
Want to simplify your life and take away the stress?
Take a camping trip and forget all the rest!
It is that time of the year when many of us carve pumpkins. Now normally you have the standard carvings, creepy faces, maybe some words or names carved in those orange globes.
Those standard carvings just didn’t appeal to Justin, our HR manager. He wanted to carve something a little more Rudolph-y.
Forget Jack … we’re all about Rudolph here.
Rudy O' Lantern
Mission accomplished Justin.
