New for 2020!

For 2020 guests will experience and enjoy approximately $2 million in additions and improvements at Lake Rudolph!

Improvements and additions include:

  • A new interactive water playground called RainDeer WaterWorks in Lake Rudolph’s own Santa’s SplashDown WaterPark. RainDeer WaterWorks opens Spring of 2020 and features water slides, water sprays, interactive water games, and a giant Rudolph-themed bucket that dumps thousands of gallons of water every few minutes. New rental cabanas are also being added next to RainDeer WaterWorks where parents can relax in the shade and watch their kids play. Cabanas include furniture and ceiling fans.
  • 24 new Vacation Rentals, including 23 Holiday Cottages, 7 wheelchair accessible cottages, and 1 wheelchair accessible Christmas Cabin.
  • A new pet policy in 2020. Dogs are now allowed in the majority of rental cabins, cottages and rental RVs. A $50 pet fee per reservation is required. Select rentals will remain pet free for guests with allergies.
  • A new Dog Park featuring a fenced-in area with play structures where guests may let their dogs run free and play.
  • A new and improved reservation system and brand new online reservation experience featuring interactive maps where Lake Rudolph guests may research and choose their site or rental.
  • A new and improved, mobile friendly website at LakeRudolph.com.
  • 20 new golf cars for the golf car rental fleet.

Pet friendly in 2020!

Yes, you read that correctly! We know you all love your fur babies. You’ve been patiently asking and waiting … and we’re happy to announce that many of our Vacation Rentals will be pet friendly in 2020!

Just let us know when making your reservation if you’ll be bringing your pet. If you would like to bring your pet, a $50 fee will be added to your charge.

We’ve also added a pet parade to our Activity Schedule for 2020!

If you’ll be traveling with your pet, just a friendly reminder that Holiday World does offer a kennel if you’ll be visiting them during your stay. All the information you need for their kennels may be found at this link. Simply scroll down to the ‘Pets and Kennels’ section.

Happy National Pancake Day!

Yes, you read that correctly. Today is National Pancake Day! The recipe below is perfect for camping … but you can also make them and celebrate today! 🙂 We won’t judge.

Make Ahead Camping Pancakes

Dry Make Ahead Ingredients…Pack into a ziploc bag. Before filling, label your bag by using a sharpie marker and writing the needed wet ingredients.

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of dry milk powder
  • 4 tsp. of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into a ziploc bag and label with a sharpie.

Wet Ingredients for the day you’ll make them:

  • 3/4 cup – 1 cup of water
  • 1 large egg
  • (optional) 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • Butter for cooking

Hint: For really fluffy pancakes it is all about the air. Mix your wet ingredients separately. This will put air in the eggs and make your pancakes fluffy. Be careful to not overmix your batter. Less mixing equals more air, which makes a fluffy pancake! Just mix until wet.

  1. When ready, melt a dab of butter on your iron skillet or griddle
  2. Whisk the wet ingredients and add to the dry
  3. If you want, transfer to a container for pouring or just snip a corner out of the zip tight bag for pouring
  4. Pour a small amount on your warm skillet to form a pancake and cook until air bubbles form and the bottom is golden brown
  5. Flip and cook through
  6. Serve with butter and maple syrup
