Rudy’s Recipe: Potato in a Can
Is a perfect baked potato while camping elusive? It’s not as hard to achieve as you think! I came across this great post about baked potatoes in a can and had to share it.
Potato in a Can
- Cleaned, whole potatoes
- Tins cans, such as from vegetables
- Aluminum Foil
Make sure your potatoes are thoroughly cleaned and dry. Also, make sure the tin can has the label removed and is clean.
Butter the outside of the potato (use quite a lot of butter) and then season to your liking. Cajun seasoning would be good or just use plain ole salt and pepper.
Next place the potato in the tin can and cover it with aluminum foil. Put the can next to your coals and let it cook for about 30-45 minutes. Do not remove the tin foil! The result will be a perfect baked potato.
