Here’s a healthy spin on that burger that you grill while camping. I actually prefer turkey burgers and my family makes these on our grill a lot. Actually, I think I’ll make them this week!
Hawaiian Turkey Burgers
- 1 lb. (16 0z.) ground turkey
- Lawry’s Hawaiian Marinade
- Vidalia Onion, sliced (optional)
- American cheese (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
- Tomatoes (optional)
- Fresh pineapple slices, grilled (optional)
Preheat lightly greased grill to medium heat. Burgers are best if you let them marinate in the Hawaiian overnight, but it isn’t necessary. Shape into 4 patties.
Grill patties 7 to 9 minutes on each side or until cooked through, brushing with the Hawaiian marinade.
Dress ‘em up however you like. You can go with the plain option of cheese, tomatoes, pickles and onions. The Hawaiian marinade really comes through if you’re not keen on adding the pineapple on your burger.
Or, go for the full Hawaiian flavor and add a pineapple slice. Just grill the pineapple slices for about two minutes on each side. When we use these we normally omit the other toppings, but hey … to each their own!
